Infographic - mobile internet costs around the world
It’s not all that surprising to see that South Africa is ranked third most expensive in the world when comparing mobile internet costs.

This infographic was put together using average costs across networks in each country (research conducted by Android Tablet Fanatic) and puts the USA, Nigeria and South Africa in the top three most expensive spots. Japan comes out cheapest, joined by Sweden and South Korea. Again, no big surprises there.

Hopefully as mobile continues to prove itself to be the primary communication device, governments and operators will see that the future lies in lower ARPU (average revenue per user). We need to get to a point where users have the choice and flexibility to build up customised packages (and thereby personalised charges) based on wants rather than struggling to afford simple connectivity needs.

About - With at least 20 phones tucked away in drawers around the house and office, Ryan is a buy-to-try mobile consumer and loves playing with new handsets. Right now he's stuck on the iPhone 4.
